This is a comprehensive introduction to age acquired deafblindess developed exclusively for HI+VISUK.

This course is aimed at anyone who wishes to understand about deafblindness. For those new to this condition which affects a large number of older people, in a population that is living longer, this training will provide an invaluable foundation of knowledge and skills. It will also raise an important self-awareness, enabling people to spot the signs and take action when their own sight and hearing worsens when they get older.

The Foundation Certificate introduces the Care Act 2014, Guidance and Regulations enabling participants to be up to date in their understanding of the legal context around care in England.

    Understand the statutory guidance and how this is being changed as the Care Act 2014 becomes more fully embedded and developed across England.
