data-ccp-charstyle=\"eop\">\u202f<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">After retirement, Joe liked to spend time at the Crown Green Bowling Club.\u202f<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> I was finding it more and more difficult to have conversations with my friends.\u202f I would nod or say yes\/no, hoping that I was making the right responses and not looking too ridiculous. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Then I found that I was having problems with my aim, I<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">couldn\u2019t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">quite make out the position of the Jack or where my Bowl was going.\u202f \u00a0I<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">didn\u2019t\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">know what was causing it, but I started to feel upset and angry.\u202f \u00a0I withdrew more and more\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and in the end\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">stopped going to the club.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Joe found it difficult at home too, he\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">could not<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">hear the TV properly <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">those subtitles are rubbish, you<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">can\u2019t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">read them, they are usually blurred and go too quickly for me to try to read.\u202f<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> I ask my wife, but she gets angry with me because she is missing<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">what\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">being said too, trying to explain to me.\u202f We usually end up arguing and I go to bed out of the way.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">After Joe&#8217;s daughter contacted Hi-Vis UK for advice, a visit from a social worker trained in DSI was arranged. \u202f<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0The lady, I think her name was Susan talked to me and understood what my difficulties were.\u202f <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">She\u202f didn\u2019t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> make fun of me and knew why I was so angry.\u202f I was given some items which help we around my home. At least now I can make a drink and warm meals up in the microwave.\u202f She gave me something for the TV too, so I can now listen and get most of what is happening on programmed.\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It\u2019s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">not perfect, but much better.\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Knowing where to go for help makes all the difference. \u00a0Let us
